NL Central Baseball
Betting Preview 2007The NL Central was a very competitive division last year. The Cincinnati Reds put up a run. For a bit, it was looking like these Reds were going to be able to get to the World Series on mediocre pitching after a long layoff. But reality quickly set in and they sputtered to the end. The Houston Astros came up as of late and put a huge scare into these Cardinals but of course they fell just short.
The Cardinals came out as the eventual champions and this does not bode well for the Cardinals next season. We recommend you to bet against them as often as possible.
The Cincinnati Reds are another team you will need to look for spots to bet against. People will remember their cinderella story last year. And they will look at their success at home and feel that they can build off of it. The truth is they cannot.
The Pirates and Brewers are also young and exciting teams at times. But they struggle on the road.
In fact, all of the NL Central teams are bad on the road. Last season, they went a combined 194-297, -67 units on the road. Take a look at a go-against betting angle on road weary teams for more detailed information on situations to bet against road teams. But the NL Central is not that great at home either.
These teams were great at home against division rivals but that is because the whole division is weak on the road. We would look to bet them at home this season as underdogs in division rivalry games. Because many of these teams are pretty bad, there is very little betting action on the games and a lot of good spreads to take advantage of. This minor angle was +13 units last season. Some simple systems win like our general home underdog betting system that helps gamblers profit all season.
