Betting Preview 2007

This division is a joke. They were distinguished as almost being the only division in the 2005 season to ever have a below 500 team make the playoffs in a non-strike shortened season. But in 2006, they showed us some signs of life. In fact, they were almost a good division. But reality is that the entire National League was a joke.

Over the past two seasons, the NL West has struggled mightily in Interleague play. In fact, they are 25-56, -26 units over the past two seasons in this spot. From the statistics, it is clear that interleague home teams have a strong advantage but the NL West performance over the past two seasons is laughable.

San Diego Padres
The Padres had a 7 game jump from the 2005 season to the 2006 season. They were 89-77 (including playoffs) versus 82-83 the previous year. They also improved by 18 units on the moneyline. They won their backers 6 units last season but we expect there to be plenty of go against spots on these Padres because of their sputtering offense.

Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers had a huge improvement from the 2005 to the 2006 season. They went from 71 wins to 88 which is a mighty feat. But if you consider before their 71 win season, they were averaging around 90 wins a season for the previous 5 seasons.

Colorado Rockies
In 2006, these Rockies were 76-86 on the season. They improved by 9 games. They improved by 4 games at home and 6 on the road. Their home dominance is effectively over. Over the past 3 seasons, Rockies at home has lost their backers 1 unit. Coors Field still has a strong home field advantage but not with respect to the gambler anymore.

Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks were also 76-86 on the season. Can you believe they were as bad as the Rockies? You would be surprised to know that betting on these Diamondbacks at home is the devil. Yep, they lose their backers consistently at home. Over the past 4 full season, these Diamonbacks are -69 units. So avoid them at home when you see huge chalk against a road underdog in a good betting system.
