Bodog is infamous among expert handicappers in how they treat baseball odds. Of all the sports betting sites, Bodog has the most traffic with approximately 340,000 monthly unique visitors.

Because of their popularity among the general public voters, Bodog makes it hard for them. They know that the public bets on favorites so they devalue the favorites by an average of 5 points. They know that many public bettors are forced to bet at night so they double the juice of bets in their overnight lines!

Before you think that this means Bodog is a horrible sportsbook, you are wrong! It is actually a very good sportsbook to start placing your bets if you understand what they do with their odds.

1. Never bet overnight. They double the juice on both the favorite and the underdog. If you are forced to bet overnight then Bodog is the wrong place for you to bet baseball.
2. Avoid favorites and bet underdogs hard at Bodog. Use another sportsbook for favorites because you are best advised to bet on the underdogs.
3. Bet underdogs as close to game time as possible. Since there is still a large majority of public bettors that put their bets as late as possible out of whim, Bodog will devalue the favorite the most close to game time. I have seen favorites pushed as many as 10-20 points because of this.
4. Avoid runlines. Bodog knows that people love to bet runlines but always devalues them by about 10 points.
5. The over/unders at Bodog are fair and will generally stay consistent with every other sportsbook. The games that people generally believe will go over like Yankees-Red Sox matchups generally have high juices. So be aware of those high profile games.
